OUR FAQ
-
How is Long Branch Rehab different from other clinics? Here, at Long Branch Rehab, we pride ourselves on an evidence-based, detailed and systemic approach to care. This means that while you might come in with a specific injury, our therapists will concentrate on fixing all elements connected to its manifestation and treating all structures that started to compensate for it. This complete approach to care will result in therapists working on multiple body areas during the same session to provide you with more meaningful and longer lasting results. You will notice an improvement from the very first session.
-
How long does the session last and how many treatments do I need?Initial chiropractic and physiotherapy sessions are around 1 hour, and follows are 30 minutes. All appointments are one-on-one basis with your provider. We do not employ assistants to perform our work for us. The length of treatment plan varies from patient to patient, and your condition. This will be determined and discussed with you during your initial visit.
-
Will I get treatment during my initial assessment?Yes. Our initial assessment includes the treatment as well.
-
What should I wear to my appointment? We ask you to wear comfortable clothing to your treatments. Shorts and a t-shirt, or tank top are usually sufficient. We also offer disposable exam shorts if needed.
-
Do I need imaging done before my appointment? No. However, if you have relevant medical reports related to your conditions, please bring it to your appointment.
-
Which therapist is right for me?All of our therapists are highly educated, experienced and reputable clinicians. They all engage in continuing education to ensure they can employ the latest techniques and principles in their treatments. In short, you cannot go wrong with anyone in our team.
-
How can treatments help me if I am not in pain?We do not want you to wait for an injury to happen in order to come see us. On the contrary, sedentary modern lifestyle in combination with weekend warrior activity can and will place abnormal tension on various body structures. However, regular maintenance on a weekly or monthly basis will reduce muscle tension, improve mobility and prevent future major problems. You will feel healthier, faster and stronger.
-
Do I need a referral note from family doctor to receive treatments?Absolutely not. However, some insurance companies might require a referral note from the doctor in order to compensate you for the claim. We recommend checking with your private insurance company before making an appointment, or coming in to the clinic and our front desk personnel will help to sort out your insurance plan.
-
Do you bill directly to insurance provider?Yes. If your insurance company permits, we can submit the claim directly to them.
-
Are treatments covered by OHIP?No. Our treatments are not covered by OHIP.
-
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment? We require a 24-hour cancelation notice. If you cancel or change your appointment within 24 hours, we will charge a cancelation fee to your credit card. The cancellation fee is equivalent to the value of your appointment.
-
Do you accept motor vehicle accident benefits or work place injury compensation?Yes. We accept Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) benefits and Work Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) benefits. Prior to your initial appointment, please call us with your claim number so we can verify the validity of your case.
